This orientation is held every semester to inform and equip the student assistants with the knowledge necessary for effectively supporting library services and operations. A demonstration of the library’s databases was also included to help familiarize the assistants with assisting library clients. The event, which featured engaging activities and a warm welcome, lasted for about two hours.
The UP Baguio Library held its Student Assistants Orientation for the second semester of A.Y. 2024-2025 on February 24, 2025. During the orientation, the new student assistants were briefed on their duties, work ethics, and responsibilities in supporting the library’s operations. The session was conducted by Ms. Julieta S. Dela Peña, Head of the Users and Readers Services Division and Circulation Section Librarian.
The UP Baguio Library expresses its gratitude to its student assistants for their dedication and service in helping fellow students make the most of the library’s resources. OIC Head Librarian, Mr. Rojan A. Paleng, encouraged them to embrace their roles with enthusiasm and maintain a commitment to learning, reminding them that their efforts contribute to a more efficient and student-friendly library environment.
